Transforming science education through research-driven innovation

Innovation Fund

BSCS relies on federal and foundation grants to cover most of our research and development. But these grants have limitations. That's why we rely on our Innovation Fund. It allows us to pursue work that falls outside of most grant guidelines. We can explore new ideas and move the products of our research into programs and services that are ready for broad implementation. Your contribution to this fund supports the transition of promising approaches from idea to impact.

Examples of Recent Impact:

  • A $10,000 gift funded the development of a research-based framework to guide curriculum writers in the use of inclusive images in instructional materials.
  • A $25,000 gift supported the launch of BSCS Videoverse, where educators access science classroom video resources to help improve their teaching practice and student engagement.
  • A $550,000 gift supported the early development of two major curriculum programs, which will change how middle and high school students learn science today and use science throughout their lives.
